Dr. Leigh Rust
Licensed Psychologist
Owner & CEO
Dr. Rust is a licensed clinical and school psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. He is the founder of Rust Psychology, PLLC, and created Game On Psychology to help clients who struggle to connect in traditional therapy settings. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Rust has worked as a school psychologist and Esports coach, giving him unique insight into how young people learn, connect, and thrive through play. His innovative approach integrates video games into evidence-based therapy, using the language of gaming to break down barriers, foster communication, and build resilience. He is trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), play-based interventions, and social-emotional learning strategies. Dr. Rust actively collaborates with school organizations including Parent University and the Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA). His contributions have earned him recognition, including the Levittown SEPTA Honorary Life Award (2021) for his dedication to the special education community and Top Forty Under 40 recognition by Long Island Business News (2024) for his work in clinical psychology. Dr. Rust has also been featured as an author in MASK Magazine and as a contributing expert in national outlets including InStyle and Forbes magazines. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Rust enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. Together, they share a love for attending Mets and Rangers games as a family.
